Out of the spare room and into the garden: Sam’s Dory Pod
Sam had recently started working from home full time and wanted to get out of the spare room, while also freeing up a conservatory full of bikes and kit. His wife spotted a Hully Pod on TikTok, and after visiting the factory in Southampton he chose a Dory Pod for the tight space at the bottom of the garden. Because it is built offsite and delivered by lorry, there was no need to take the fence down. It is now a quiet office where the dog curls up at his feet, and in winter it will become a home for the exercise bike.

How did you first hear about Hully Pods?
My wife saw one on TikTok! I thought it was a good idea but wanted to see one in person, so I arranged to visit the factory in Southampton, where Kianna was happy to show me around.
What challenges/problems necessitated the purchase of a Hully Pod?
We’ve got a nice conservatory, but it’s been full of bikes and kit for years, so we wanted to free up some space to make it more usable. I also recently switched to working from home full time and had been looking for a solution that would get me out of our spare room and into a more appropriate space.
What were you looking for in terms of a garden room solution?
We were looking for something which would be big enough to fit the exercise bike and a small office for me together and had very limited space to work with at the bottom of our garden.
What made Hully Pods stand out over other solutions that you researched?
The clincher for us was it being fabricated offsite and being delivered on a lorry. We would have had to have taken most of our fencing down in order to install a traditional shed and would have had to spend a lot of money for it to be electrified, insulated, and weatherproofed like the Hully Pod.
How has your Hully Pod helped you since it arrived?
It has been great to feel like I’m effectively working outside, and it’s much quieter than in the house. Plus, the dog loves it and enjoys curling up at my feet during the day!
What plans do you have to use your Hully Pod in the future?
I’m looking forward to the proper summer, where it will be nice and cool in the mornings, and then probably converting it so its primary use is for the exercise bike in the winters.
