From Garden Pod to Counselling Practice: Lucy’s Story
Lucy runs a private counselling and psychotherapy practice from a pale blue Skipjack Pod in her garden. She had no spare room, renting a room elsewhere was expensive, and converting a shed would have meant sorting out insulation, electrics and a professional feel herself.

Why a pod works as a therapy room
Clients need privacy and calm. Lucy’s Skipjack gives her a quiet, separate room to see people in confidence, away from the house. It came fully insulated and wired, so she could start her practice straight away instead of fitting out a building first.
Having the Pod has enabled me to start a new business and take a big step into a new career.
Lucy
She was worried about the tricky access, but the driver positioned the Pod with what she calls the most incredible parallel parking. Read Lucy’s full answers below, or see all Pod sizes and prices.

Our Customer’s Experience
How did you first hear about Hully Pods?
I came across Hully Pods while searching online for garden rooms. I was looking for something that could work as a professional space at home and the Pods immediately caught my eye.
What challenges/problems necessitated the purchase of a Hully Pod?
I wanted to set up a private Counselling and Psychotherapy practice from home but I didn’t have a spare room in the house. Renting elsewhere would have been expensive, and converting a shed-style structure would have meant worrying about insulation, electrics and how professional it would feel. I needed something that would be welcoming for clients but also practical for me to run my sessions.
What were you looking for in terms of a garden room solution?
Cost was a big factor. I looked at cheaper options, but most of them would have meant figuring out how to insulate, wire, and make them comfortable year-round. I didn’t want to compromise on quality or risk it feeling like a temporary solution. I needed something well built, reliable and professional.
What made Hully Pods stand out over other solutions that you researched?
The price was incredibly competitive compared to other options on the market. More importantly, the Pod came fully insulated and wired, which was exactly what I needed. It felt like a complete solution that would allow me to focus on starting my practice straight away instead of worrying about all the practicalities.
How has your Hully Pod helped you since it arrived?
It has completely changed things for me. Having the Pod has enabled me to start a new business and take a big step into a new career. It has given me a private, quiet space to see clients in confidence and I finally have the environment I needed to get started properly.
What plans do you have to use your Hully Pod in the future?
It will continue to be the place where I run my Counselling practice. I see it as a long-term part of my home and my business, and I know it will grow with me as my work develops.
Is there anything else we should know?
The delivery was particularly impressive. I had worried about how it would work because access isn’t easy, but the driver managed it brilliantly. He arrived slightly earlier than expected and handled the challenges calmly. Watching him position the Pod was like seeing someone do the most incredible parallel parking. It really put my mind at ease and made the whole experience stress-free.
