Dan works full time from a green Dory Office Pod on his patio. Before, his desk was on the upstairs landing of a three-bed house shared with his wife and two children, with no privacy for calls and no view outside. He wanted something small that would not take over the garden or replace his shed.

Why the Dory Office suited a small garden

The 1.2m-deep Dory Office kept his garden and shed intact. Because it arrives fully built, there were no labour costs, which made it easy to budget. Since moving in, Dan has added a shelf above the rear window and blinds to cut glare, and he looks out of the glazed door to think between calls.

It feels like I psychologically have a proper office to go to, which is warm, quiet and free from distractions. It’s a complete game changer.

Our Customer’s Experience

How did you first hear about Hully Pods?

I was looking for outdoor offices and found them on Google. Was great to see they were a company based on the south coast near to me!

What challenges/problems necessitated the purchase of a Hully Pod?

I live with my wife and 2 kids in a 3 bed house and was working full time from home on a tiny desk on the upstairs landing. I was distracted all the time when the kids came home, could hear them gaming, and sometimes they would have to hide or be quiet when I was on calls. It ideal at all. Plus I felt very claustrophobic as could not see the outside world at all when at my desk.

What were you looking for in terms of a garden room solution?

I wanted something small that wouldn’t take over the garden, and wouldn’t require me to replace my existing shed and make sacrifices with storage. Having a complete built solution meant that there were no labour costs to worry about either – perfect.

What made Hully Pods stand out over other solutions that you researched?

I really liked the small, fully assembled solution that Hully Pods offered. No labour costs meant that I could easily budget and was able to envisage it easily being situated on my patio. All I needed was electric supply and optional Ethernet ready before my delivery day.

How has your Hully Pod helped you since it arrived?

It’s transformed my WFH experience. It feels like I psychologically have a proper “office” to go to, which is warm (with an oil filled radiator), quiet and free from distractions, and I’m able to glance out the glass panelled door and look at the sky to help me think. It’s a complete game changer.

What plans do you have to use your Hully Pod in the future?

I’ve already installed a lovely wooden shelf above the rear window, and some blinds to give me privacy and remove sun glare when needed. I’m using it whenever I work from home and it has really helped me concentrate on work and feel I have my own private place in my home where I can get work done. It’s like a mini man cave. Even added a coffee machine to keep me happy!

Is there anything else we should know?

Your delivery driver was such a lovely chap with his gorgeous dog. Kept him happy with lots of cups of tea and he was all too happy to get the pod installed safely and in the right location despite it being a bit tricky. Please pass on our thanks he was lovely!
